The Cinque Terre - Italy's Magical Villages

Three years ago I embarked on the most amazing adventure on the coastline of the Italian Riviera. The Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 towns, colourful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces, harbours are filled with fishing boats and trattorias turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto. The Sentiero Azzurro cliffside hiking trail links the villages and offers sweeping sea vistas. There is a rail line connecting each village with request local trains stopping at each village, and ferries which provide fantastic views from the sea. An incredible place to visit and one of the most photogenic places in the world. Just make sure you are fit enough to climb the thousands of steps!
