Travelling through northern Vietnam on All Points East's Unexplored: The Far North tour took us far beyond the typical tourist trails into a realm of untouched beauty. We crossed rugged mountain passes and discovered remote valleys where vibrant hill-tribe communities still maintain centuries-old traditions. From peaceful hikes across the lush, terraced landscapes of Pu Luong National Park to immersive stays in traditional ethnic homestays, every day felt like an authentic adventure. Navigating this dramatic region with small-group intimacy allowed us to truly connect with local cultures and experience a side of the country few travellers ever see. Capping off the overland journey in historic Hanoi provided the ultimate reward after exploring one of Southeast Asia's last remaining hidden frontiers.
