As part of our South American Odyssey we arrived in coastal Lima instantly which set the stage for an unforgettable Peruvian journey, A quick flight inland brings you to the Sacred Valley, where ancient agricultural terraces and bustling Indigenous markets offer a stunning, lower-altitude haven for acclimatisation. Riding the scenic train along the roaring Urubamba River culminates in the ultimate reward: standing in awe as the morning mist clears over the cliff side citadel of Machu Picchu. Leaving the valley behind, you ascend high into the High Andes, crossing dramatic mountain passes and sweeping altiplano landscapes dotted with grazing llamas. Your journey finishes at the tranquil shores of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake, where time-tested traditions thrive on floating reed islands beneath impossibly blue skies.
